Tsiku lina mnyengo yozizira, Adziwa anali pa ulendo wokayendera achibale.

Pamtsinje, anapeza njoka yaikulu.
"Ukupita kuti?" njoka inamufunsa Adziwa. "Ndikuwoloka mtsinje," Adziwa anayankha.

Njoka inapempha kuti, "Chonde ndithandize kuwoloka mtsinjewu chifukwa sindingathe kuwoloka ndekha."
Adziwa anali wokoma mtima ndipo anayankha, "Bwera ndikuthandiza kuwoloka mtsinjewu."

Njoka inakwera pamutu pa Adziwa ndipo anawoloka mtsinje uja.
Adziwa anaiwuza njoka ija kuti itsike. Njoka inakana, "Sinditsika, ndikumva bwino pano."

Adziwa anada nkhawa. Kuti aimenye njoka ija ndi mtengo, akhoza kudzipweteka. Komanso kuti aikoke itha kumuluma.
Adziwa anaganiza zofunsira nzeru. Amafuna afunse nzeru kwa fisi pa vutoli.

"Mwaswera bwanji, afisi?" anatero Adziwa.

"Ndaswera bwino, ndingakuthandizeni bwanji?" anafunsa fisi.
Adziwa anati, "Ndikudziwa ndinu a chilungamo, kotero ndimafuna mutithandize maganizo."

Adziwa anafotokoza zomwe zinachitika ndi njoka, ndipo anafunsa maganizo a fisi pa nkhaniyi.
Fisi anati, "Mwawoloka mtsinje, kotero njoka iyenera kutsika."

Koma njoka inakana kutsika.
Kenako anapita kuti akamve maganizo a nkhandwe.

Adziwa anati, "Nkhandwe, ndikudziwa umaganiza bwino, ndipo tikufuna kuti utithandize maganizo."
"Ndinathandiza njoka kuwoloka mtsinje. Titawoloka, ikukana kuchoka pamutu panga," anadandaula choncho Adziwa.
Nkhandwe inati, "Ngati mukufuna ndipereke chigamulo changa, nonse mukhale mutaima pansi payekhapayekha. Ngati simukugwirizana ndi zimene ndanena ndiye mungobwerera kumene mwachoka."

Njoka inatsika pamutu pa Adziwa.
"Nkhandwe, tiwuze maganizo ako." Anatero Adziwa.

Nkhandwe anayankha, Njoka ili pansi. Ndodo ili m'manja mwako. Ndiye ukufuna ine ndinene kuti chiyani?"
Ataganiza kwa kanthawi, Adziwa anazindikira chimene nkhandwe amatanthauza.

Adziwa anaimenya njoka ija ndi ndodo yake.
