Xitichi xa mabazi edorobeni xitele hi vanhu.
Mulanguteri wa mabazi wa huwelela, "Lava yaka edorobenikulu! Ha suka sweswi!"
Vanhu va kwetlembetana ku ya nghena ebazini.
Vavasati lava nga na vana va tshama ehansi.

Riendzo ri ta va ri lehile.
Ndzi tshamile hi le fasitereni, etlhelo ka wanuna un'wana.
Ndzi anakanya, "Ndzi ya edirobenikulu! Ndzi ta tsundzuka ekaya."
A ku ri na van'waswimawusa vo tala lava a va xavisa tinhundzu ta vona.
Vakhandziyi van'wana va xavile swilo.

Mina a ndzi ri hava mali yo xava.
Swo na swi pfuketana, muchayeri a ba bele.

A ku ri nkarhi wo va hi suka.
Van'waswimawusa va kwetlembetana ku lava ku chika ebazini.
"Xana ndzi ta vuya rini?" ndzi tivutisa.
A ku hisa endzeni ka bazi.

Ndzi pfala mahlo.
Ndzi anakanya hi manana na buti wa mina ekaya.
Hi switsongo ndzi khomiwa hi vurhongo swinene.
Endzhaku ka tiawara to hlaya ndzi pfuka.

A ku sele vanhu vatsongo ku ri va chika.
A ku ri nkarhi wo va ndzi kuma yindlu ya malume.
