U-Ajao, umaphelaphelana, ulele ngendlini yakhe ugula khulu.

Akekho umuntu obekaya ukuyomhlola.
Ngemva kwalokho u-Ajao wafa.
Abomakhelwana bathi, "U-Ajao ufile. Kufanele sibize iinini zakhe ukobana zize zizombulunga."
Abomakhelwana bakhamba bayokubiza iinyoni bathi, "Isinini senu sifile."
Iinyoni zeza zathola bona ngu-Ajao. Zathi, "Isilwana lesi asisiyo ingcenye yomndeni wethu."
"Zoke iinini zethu zinamasiba kodwana u-Ajao yena akanawo. Ngalokho kutjho bona akasi ngewethu."

Iinyoni zaphapha zakhamba.
Abomakhelana babonisana.

Bavumelana, "Iinyoni ziqinisile. U-Ajao akanawo amasiba. Ngalokho kutjho khona bona akasiso isinini sazo."
Munye wabo wathi, "Kufanele abe yingcenye yomndeni wamakhondlo. Ufana nawo."
Abomakhelwana bakhamba babiza amakhondlo bathi, "Omunye welunga lomndeni wenu ufile."
Amakhondlo afika athola bona ngu-Ajao. Athi, "Isilwana lesi asisiyo ingcenye yomndeni wethu."
Elinye nelinye ilunga lomndeni wethu linomsila. U-Ajao akanawo umsila."

Amakhondlo asuka akhamba.
Azikho iinini zaka-Ajao ezatholakalako begodu wahlala angakabulungwa njalo.
