"Ncũ, reke tuthome karugono mwanokwa," ng'ina arauga.
Karaja mono, Mbarathi na Ntigiri ciakaraga amwe. Ciathithagia mantu jonthe igwatanĩrite.
Ntuku imwe inthũkũ, mutano Mbarathi arakua.

Araigua bũthũkũna ararira mono. Atũũri bagwe baramuboreria.
Ĩndĩ areeta na mbere kurĩra. Mutanongi'na na mucorewe ntigiri barageria kumukiiria.

"Ntomurume atĩriraga na inya. Ka eturaga methori akirĩ kii," Ntigiri iramwatha.
Igita ria mathiko, Mbarathi ĩrarĩra yathugania mantu ja mutanowe uria ukuite.

Ntigiri ĩramutega na kuuga, "Mũntũ murume atiriraga na inya."
Ntigiri ĩrakiria Mbarathi riria yarĩraga, "Hii, hii, hii."

Aririkanagia Mbarathi irire, "Hmm, hmm, hmm."
Bũũ bureta na mbere mwanka mutano Mbarathi arathikwa.
Mieri ĩĩrĩ nyumene, mutano Ntigiri wa kĩmumwe kinyawe arakua.

Atũũri baracemania kubanga mathiko. Mutanong'ina wa ntigiri amwe na mucorewe Mbarathi ibaarĩ o au kumuboreria.
Rĩrĩa ntigiri yarĩrire na inya, Mbarathi ĩramĩĩra yũmĩĩrie. Ĩramũririkania atĩ ntomũrũme atĩrĩraga na inya, na atĩ abwĩrĩte kũrĩra, "Hmm, hmm, hmm."
Ĩndĩ Ntigiri ĩreta na mbere ĩkiriraga na inya niuntu niyendete mutanowe wa kĩmũũmwe mono.
Ĩrarira kinya na inya nkuruki, "Hii hoo! Hii hoo! Hii hoo!" Uu nijakuga, "Nĩbunene mono! Bũũnene mono! Bũũ nene mono!"
"Na bũũ nibu bũtũmaga Ntigiri ĩrĩra na inya gukuruka Mbarathi," ntĩĩ arambĩĩra bakĩthiragia rugono.
