Umushi wa Sinyaire walishingulukwa neempili. Insoka ishingi shikala mumpanga mumpili. Insoka iikulu baleeita ati Unyalego. Insoka iyi yaletinya saana abantu abamumushi kabili yaaleelya Imbushi na Impaanga.
Ubushiku bumo, Apiyo, Ajoh na Atieno baile mukuteeba inkuni. Banakulu wabakashana aba baalibebele ukuti baleecenjela ne nsoka ya Unyalego. "Mwikasenda icintu cimbi mumpanga. Mukateebefye nkuni." Nomba, Ajoh eka takonkele ifunde lya banakulu.
Abakashana baalisendele umukaka, inkonde, ifyumbu namenshi. Baalisendele intambo napanga iyatwa iyakuputwilako inkuni. Abo batampa noobulendo ubwakuya mumpanga.
Mulwendo lwabo, baleeshimika nookuseka. Umukalamba wabo, Apiyo, alibatalalike, "Twafika umwikala Unyalego."
Atieno aiitile bambi, "Moneni ameeno yakwa Unyalego ayagolide. "Natuyasende."    Apiyo abeebukishe ifyo banakulu babeebele ukutila beekasenda cintu nangu cimo kanofyee nkuni."
Ajoh atile, "NshabacetekeIa bamama. Tabaleefwaya fye ukutila tusende ifintu ifyo tuleefwaya. Baalikwata umufimbila. Nalaasenda ameeno ayagolide." Bamunyina baalisakamana saana. "Ajoh, natukusoka," efyalandile bamunyina. Ajoh tapooseleko amano.
Panshita iine, Unyalego aalishile mukufwaya ameeno yakwe. Aaliikalipe pantu tayasangile ameeno yakwe ayagolide. Unyalego, yaumfwile abakashana baleelanda nookuseka. Yafiseme mulibwe kumbali yamusebo uwo abakashana baali nookubomfya.
Abakashana balisendele inkuni pamitwe. Munshita iinoono, baumfwile icatiile, "Shhhhh!" Abakashana balitiinine nookwesha ukufisama.    Unyalego aishile naasama naipekanya ukusuma.
Unyalego aipwishe abakashana, "Ninani uusendele ameeno yandi?"    Takuli uwayaswike. Insoka yasalilepo ukwesha abakashana. "Uushikwete mulandu alaaimba ulwimbo ukwabula ukulufyanya. Uyo, alaaya kung'anda neenkuni shakwe. Uyo uulufyenye alaafilwa ukwimba. Eena alaaba icakulya candi icanshiku shitatu."
Apiyo aalimbile bwino bwino. Na Atieno aalimbile ulwimbo.
Uwakulekelesha aali Ajoh. Aaliselela kunuma pantu aalitinine. Atampile ukwiimba. Nomba imimbile yakwe yalibipile namashiwi fye yali ayabipa. Unyalego alikalipe saana. "Ninshi tauleimbila nga bambi?" Insoka yalishibe ukutila Ajoh ewasendele ameeno ayangolide.
Unyalego aalimina Ajoh. Bamunyina babutukile kumushi nookuyaeba abantu bamumushi icacitike.
