My name is Abdou.

I am 12 years old.

1

I live with my Grandma in Tenenkou.

2

Our village is on the banks of the Diaka River.

3

My uncle Mama is a great fisherman.

4

Every morning, he spreads his nets in the river.

5

One afternoon, I went to the pond with my friends.

6

My friend Oussou caught a fish with mud.

7

He wanted to clean it, but received an electric shock.

8

He shouted, "There's a current! There's a current!"

9

Everyone laughed.

But Grandma explained, "This Fish is called Noumbo."

10

"You must not touch Noumbo when it's alive," Grandma reminded us.

11

From then on, the children looked out for Noumbo alive.
