There was a girl named Chioma. She loved reading books.
One day, Chioma took part in a reading competition at her school. Her father and mother encouraged her.
During the competition, Chioma had some challenges but she did not give up.
Finally, she won the competition.
Chioma's parents were proud of her. They were so excited because Chioma was awarded a scholarship.
Chioma was also given a trophy. She was so happy. Her parents organised a party and invited her friends to celebrate with her.
The friends gave her gifts. It was Chioma's happiest day ever.
One day, Chioma's friends came to visit her. They found her reading.
Chika, asked, "Don't you get tired of reading? You read all the time."
Chioma replied, "I am not complaining. I love reading."
Chika insisted that Chioma should stop reading and play with her.
"You have to rest. You can't read all the time. I didn't mean that you should stop reading. You need to balance reading and playing," said Chika.
Chioma was angry at first because she did not understand.
Chioma was sad. She didn't eat or drink. She was thinking about what her friend told her.
Her mother noticed and asked what the problem was. "It is nothing mum," Chioma answered.
Later, she went to her mum and told her what Chika had said.
Her mum told her that she should not be worried. She encouraged her to think about what Chika meant.
The next day at school, an organisation that promotes reading came to Chioma's school.
Chioma won a bigger scholarship to study more. She was very happy.
