Kojo loved riding his bicycle along the dusty road of the village.
The road is busy with farmers, goats, and motorbikes.
One afternoon, Kojo raced his friend, Ama, near the main road.
They laughed as they pedaled faster and faster.
They heard the sound of a motorbike behind them.
Kojo tried to stop, but he lost balance and fell.
His mother rushed to help. Kojo's knee was scraped, but he was safe.
"Sometimes accidents happen when we are not careful," his mother said kindly.
An elder of the village called everyone together under the big mango tree.
"We must be careful on our roads," he advised.
The teacher taught the children how to look left and right before crossing a road.
She reminded them to slow down near curves.
Kojo checked his bicycle brakes. From that day, he rode more carefully.
Motorbike riders also agreed to slow down, especially, near homes and schools.
People in the village took the advice on safety seriously.
After his knee healed, Kojo enjoyed riding along the path carefully.
He remembered, "Always, safety first!"
