Ada held mum's hand as they walked into the supermarket. The place was bright and full of colours.

Ada's eyes shone with excitement as she looked around the place.

"Stay close to me," mum said gently, smiling at her.

1

As Ada looked around, something caught her attention. She saw a shelf filled with boxes of all sizes.

"Mummy, everything here is in order!" Ada said, her voice full of wonder.

2

As they approached another section, Ada saw a box wrapped with a ribbon.

"Mummy, look at the shape of these boxes," Ada said.

Mum smiled, "They have the shape of a cube. A cube has six equal square faces."

3

Ada picked up another box. This one looked longer than the other ones. "Mummy, is this also a cube?" Ada asked.

"No, it's a cuboid. A cuboid is longer than a cube. It has six rectangular faces," mum answered.

"Okay!" Ada said, nodding her head.

4

They moved to another shelf. Ada saw tins of milk.

She touched one and smiled. "This one is round. What shape is it, mummy?" Ada asked.

5

"That's a cylinder," mum explained.

Ada slowly turned the tin around, watching how smooth and round it looked. "A cylinder has two flat circular faces."

"Yes," said mum.

6

One of the workers passed with a trolley full of oranges. She wanted to keep them in the fruit section.

"The oranges look juicy! Can we buy some, mum?" Ada asked.

"Let's go to the fruit section then," said mum.

7

As Ada was about to pick some oranges, one fell out. The orange rolled, and kept rolling as Ada chased it.

Finally, she picked it up and returned to where mum was.

Mum had been watching Ada to ensure she doesn't get lost.

8

"Why did it roll like that?" Ada asked, wanting to understand.

Mum smiled. "Because it's a sphere. A sphere has no flat faces, so it rolls easily."

Ada giggled and gently put the orange in their shopping basket.

9

As they walked on, Ada saw ice cream in the freezer.

She was so excited. "Mummy, look at that pointed shape!" Ada said with eyes shining.

10

"That's a cone. It has a flat circular base and a pointed top," mum said.

Ada nodded happily. "Cone," she repeated the word, feeling proud of herself.

11

As they checkout, Ada looked into their shopping basket. She wanted to remember the different shapes.

"The box is a cube, the longer box is a cuboid, the milk tin is a cylinder, the orange is a sphere, the ice cream is a cone!" Ada said excitedly.

Mum clapped softly. "Well done, Ada!"
