This is Ijeoma , she is stubborn and disobedient,
her mother advised her not to talk to strangers also, she should not talk to her elders rudely.
But she always does the opposite.

1

Early that day, was a hot Saturday morning when Ijeoma and her friend Mary went to fetch water at the stream

2

They saw an old woman sitting on a log of wood, and wondered what she was doing at the stream by that time of the day.

3

"I think I should talk to the old woman", Ijeoma whispered to her friend. But her friend stoped her and reminded her that her mother warned them not to talk to strangers. So, they fetched water and left.

4

"Should I go back and meet that old woman?" Ijeoma thought to herself. "Yes, I will", she said and sneaked out of the house heading to the stream.

5

At Ijeoma's arrival , she saw the old woman still sitting on the log , she asked the old woman so many questions but the old woman did not answer any of those questions.

6

Ijeoma wondered why the old woman did not say a word. "Why are you this ugly?" Ijeoma asked the old woman. The old woman became angry.

7

She casted a spell on Ijeoma who did not know that the old woman is a witch. Immediately, Ijeoma became blind. Help! Help! She shouted.

8

It was already 5:30p.m. and Ijeoma was not back home yet. Ijeoma's mum became worried and went out in search of her. She heard Ijeoma shouting for help. She ran to Ijeoma and took her home.

9

When they got home and settled down, Ijeoma told her mother all that had happened. She cried and cried but her mother consoled her. "Do not cry my daughter, we will find the old woman" said her mum.

10

They searched for the old woman but did not see her sitting on the log of wood nor anywhere around the stream. Later, Ijeoma asked her mother for forgiveness and her mum told her that she has already forgiven her.

11

Ijeoma thanked her mum so much. She promised never to be disobedient and rude to people. Since Ijeoma couldn't find the old woman who casted a spell on her, she became blind forever.
