Kibo was a young elephant who lived in the vast savannah with his herd. He was strong and kind, but he often felt different from the others. While the older elephants were confident and wise, Kibo sometimes doubted himself. He worried that
he was not as brave or important as the rest.
One dry season, the land began to change. The rivers shrank, the grass turned brown, and water became scarce. The herd had to travel far each day to find enough to drink. The journey was tiring,
especially for the younger elephants.
One afternoon, as the herd rested under a large acacia tree, Kibo wandered a little distance away. He noticed a group of birds circling and chirping loudly near a cluster of rocks. Curious, Kibo walked
closer and used his trunk to push aside some dry branches. Beneath them, he found damp soil.
Excited, Kibo began digging with his strong legs and trunk. After some time, water slowly began to seep up from the ground. It wasn’t much at first
, but it was enough to show that there was a hidden water source.
Kibo quickly ran back to the herd and called them. At first, the older elephants were unsure, but they followed him. When they saw the water, they were amazed. Together,
they dug deeper until a small pool formed, enough for everyone to drink.
The herd was saved from thirst, and Kibo was no longer the unsure elephant he once was. The leader of the herd gently touched him with her trunk and said, “You have
shown courage, wisdom, and initiative. Never doubt yourself again.”
From that day on, Kibo walked with confidence. He realized that being different was not a weakness it was his strength. He had trusted his instincts and helped his family
when they needed it most.
Kibo learned that true bravery is not about being the biggest or the strongest, but about believing in yourself and taking action when it matters.
