Zuri was a young and curious hippo who lived peacefully in a wide, beautiful river with her family. Unlike the other hippos, who were constantly staying in the water and nearby banks, Zuri often wondered about the world beyond.
She was fascinated by the land, the distant hills, and the creatures that lived outside the river. Her mother always warned her that while the river was safe, the land could be dangerous. Still, Zuri’s curiosity kept growing.
One morning,
Zuri saw a flock of birds flying toward the hills. Inspired by their freedom, she decided to follow her desire for adventure. Quietly and bravely, she stepped out of the river for the first time and began exploring the land.
Everything felt new and exciting the warm ground, the fresh air, and the unfamiliar surroundings.
As she journeyed further, Zuri met a monkey swinging through the trees. The monkey asked where she was going,
and Zuri proudly said she wanted to explore the world. The monkey warned her that not everything on land was friendly, but Zuri continued on her path, determined to see more.
Soon, she entered a field of tall grass. Suddenly,
she heard a noise and became frightened. A lion appeared from the grass, and Zuri froze in fear. The lion noticed she was far from her home and questioned her presence. Although scared, Zuri admitted she wanted to explore.
Instead of harming her, the lion told her that while she was brave, she also needed wisdom. He advised her to return home before it became dark.
Realizing the danger she was in, Zuri quickly ran back toward the river. When she arrived,
she felt safe again and was relieved to see her mother. She explained everything that had happened and admitted that although the world was beautiful, it was also risky, especially for someone unprepared.
Her mother gently reminded her that curiosity is good, but it must be balanced with caution and patience. Zuri understood that she was not yet ready to explore the world on her own. From that day, she remained curious but chose to stay safe
