Kelani adali mwana woyamba wa bambo ndi mayi Thawani.
Mu banjamu, munalinso ana ena monga Tidya, mchemwali wa Kelani, komanso Litsiro, yemwe anali mzime.
Tsiku lina, Kelani adabwera kusukulu ndi mabuku awiri. Adapeza mayi ake akuphika, ena onse kunalibe.
Amayi ake adali kuimba nyimbo ya;
“Kodi nonse mwasamba,
ife tasamba,
aphunzitsi bwerani mudzaone nokha..."
“Kelani,” adaseka mayiwo, “ungamangondimvera ndikuimba nyimboyi?” adasekanso, “mabukuwa waatenga kuti?” iwo adafunsa.
“Ndabwereka kwa anzanga kuti ndiwerenge,” adayankha Kelani.
Posakhalitsa, Kelani adalowa kuchipinda kwake kukawerenga.
Bambo ndi mayi Thawani anadabwa kuti Kelani sakuoneka.
Abale ake anayesera kufunsa makolo awo za Kelani, yankho lawo linali, “Mwina wakasewera".
Koma chodabwitsa, abale ake aja adakayang’ana konse komwe Kelani amasewera, sadamupezeko.
Mitima inayamba kuthamanga chifukwa kamdima kanali kakusendera.
Komabe mayi ake a Kelani anadzilimbitsa, “Kelani ndi mnyamata, mwina wakasewera kumsika.”

“Koma ama, simisala imeneyi? Munthu wanji wosatuluka kuchipinda? Ndiye akuseka chiyani yekhayekha?” Adafunsa Tidya.
“Iiiiii, wabweratu ndi mabuku, akuwerenga kuteroko,” adayankha mayi aja.
“Komatu ndiye kuti muli nkhani yokoma, nanenso ndufuna kuwerenga…” adatero Litsiro.
“Aaah iwe umatha kuwerenga? Sikoma kuthawa kusamba,” Tidya adayankha. “Ama, uyu ngati akufuna kuwerenga akasambe kaye,” adapitiriza.
Amayi aja asanayankhe kalikonse, Litsiro anali atanyamula beseni lamadzi ozizira, liwiro kukasamba.
Aliyense anali odabwa chifukwa ili linali tsiku lachisanu Litsiro akukana kusamba, ndipo akadutsa amanunkha ngati chimanga chokazinga.
Atamaliza kusamba, anawerenga mabuku a Kelani. Anaseka kwambiri mpaka kugudubuka.
“Inu asamuphe!
Akanangomusiya!” Litsiro anakuwa pa mathero.
“Bola wasamba,” Tidya adatero mokondwera.
