THE WONDERFUL CREATION
Alice Baafuwaa

Long ago, before there was anything, there was only darkness.
Nothing moved, nothing lived.

1

Then, a bright light appeared.
It separated the darkness from the light.
The first day was born.

2

Next, the sky appeared, stretching above the waters below.
Clouds floated and the wind began to blow.

3

Land appeared from the waters, forming mountains, valleys, and plains.
Grass and trees began to grow.

4

Then, the sun, moon, and stars were placed in the sky. They gave light to the day and night.

5

The waters filled with fish and other creatures.
Birds began to fly in the sky.

6

Animals appeared on land: lions, elephants, goats, and many more.
Each had a special home.

7

Finally, humans were created to take care of the world.
They learned to plant, care for animals, and enjoy the beauty around them.

8

The world was complete: land, water, sky, animals, plants, and people.
Everything was alive and full of colors.

9

On the seventh day, everything rested.
The world was beautiful and peaceful.
And from that day, humans promised to care for creation.
