A family lived on a farmland on the outskirts of Akosombo.

Because they lived far from the city, the mother of the house taught her children to read every day.

1

A mischief of mice also found their way to stay in the shadows of the house, where the family never noticed their presence.

Every day, the golden doe (mother mouse) made sure to listen to the woman reading to her children.

2

After the reading session, the golden mouse would hop onto the table and read on its own.

After eating and packing away leftover food, the doe (mother mouse) will hurriedly go to her pups (baby mice) and narrate the story. This happened for several months.

3

Gradually, the doe could read, and she became extremely intelligent.

It began reading to its pups in an unbelievable manner.

"Mummy, can we read by ourselves too? Asked one of the pups. "Yes," the mother responded.

4

After several years of reading, the doe decided to encourage other animals on the farm to learn to read so they could know more about the wider world.

The doe, in the company of her pups, met the animal community and spoke highly of the importance of reading and reading to their children.

5

Most animals did not believe that a mouse could read. They expected the parrot to be the one who could read.

The golden mouse proved them wrong and read fluently in front of everyone. All the animals were in awe and clapped.

6

At home, the golden mouse began helping the family with basic household chores without their knowledge.

The mouse would clean the dishes, clear the floor, and more.

7

One day, the youngest member of the family came upon the golden mouse while it was undertaking some household chores.

He hurriedly ran to inform his mom, who came along, but the doe had already gone into hiding.
