Amina lived in a small Village where everyone loved to farm. But one year, the sun was too hot and the farm began to dry
Everyday, Amina watch her mother carry heavy bucket of water to the crops. She wished she could help
One afternoon, Amina noticed something. The soil near the shady three was still wet, even though no one waterd it.
She remembered her science teachers lesson about capillary action _ how water move through tiny spaces like magic.
Amina ran home and picked long pieces of cotton cloth from her old clothes. "I will make water travel by itself!". She said
She placed one end of each cloth inside a bucket of water and the other end on the dry the soil near the crops.
Slowly the water began to drink the water.
The water moved drop by drop into the thirsty soil.
The next morning, Amina ran to the farm. The soil was wet! Her crops were alive again.
Her mother was amazed. "Amina, you saved our farm. How did you do it?"
Amina explained her simple invention. "Science is everywhere," she said proudly.
Soon, other farmers in the village copied amina's idea.
Their crops grew green and healthy again
Amina's tiny idea saved the whole village.
And every harvest season, people remembered the girl who used science to bring water to the thirsty earth
