Leo's Planetary Parade

Leo built a rocket from a box she found. She was ready to blast-off from the ground!

Wearing her spacesuit and ready for fun, Leo counted down from ten to one ...

1

Leo was soon in outer space. Stars twinkled all over the place.

Mercury is a small planet spinning fast. "Catch me if you can!" he laughed.

2

Bright Venus came after, dressed in gold and beaming with laughter.

"But don't come too close to me. I'm the hottest planet in this galaxy!"

3

Lovely Earth was next, spinning green and blue.

She said, "Remember to take care of me, as I take care of you."

4

Friendly Mars greeted Leo, "Do you know I have a tall volcano?"

Leo sneezed, "I'd like to see, but you're too dusty for me!"

5

Giant Jupiter rolled in with a stormy spin. His grin stretched wide and thin.

"I'm the biggest planet in our solar system!"

6

Sweet Saturn twirled like a dancer with her shiny rings glittering.

Leo clapped. "I love your hula hoops. Look at them shimmering!"

7

Leo was far from the sun. Her visit to space was almost done.

Here's sleepy Uranus, leaning to one side. He is mostly gas and ice.

8

Neptune was still far away. Leo said, "I'll return another day."

Neptune warned, "I'm too cold for you!" Leo shivered, "Oh dear, it's true!"

9

The planets sang to Leo with great delight.

"We spin, we dance, we shine so bright! We're the planets, day and night!"
