Why snakes eat frogs

Hundreds of years back, Frog and Snake were friends. They lived together and assisted each other in daily chores. Frog had a soft voice that would not scare anyone away.

1

Frog went in to the field to collect termites for their evening meal. He carried them home in his big bag for his mother to prepare them.

2

On his way home, he met Snake and they decided to journey together. While on the way, they found a dray of squirrels who attempted to attack them. Snake hissed at them and scared them away. They continued with their journey home.

3

Frog invited Snake to their home. On reaching home, Frog's mother prepared a sumptuous meal. As she did so, they patiently sat on a mat next to the fireplace.

4

Frog hurriedly ate his meal up while Snake barely touched his. Snake suggested they visit monkey to change his voice since he had powers to alter different animal voices. "It's a great idea." Frog replied.

5

Early morning the next day, they set off. They found Monkey who keenly listened to their request. Monkey asked Frog to make a wish of the voice he wanted. "I wish to have a cracking voice." Replied Frog.

6

After returning from Monkey's place, they went out to hunt. As they passed through the forest they were acousted by squirrels who threatened to attack them. Snake hissed at them but it was not enough to scare them away.

7

The squirrels jeered at Snake. He coiled himself in fear. On noticing this, Frog placed his bag down and in a loud voice he roared in anger at the squirrels. They all bolted in fear as they scampered for safety.

8

They went home to frogs place feeling hungry and thirsty. They were offered water in a bowl. Snake dipped his head with all the might and water splashed on Frog's face. He was so annoyed with Snake and swore to teach him a lesson.

9

While they were taking their meal, Snake told Frog he won't go hunting with him again now that he had a cracking voice that scared the squirrels away.

10

"I also want to make some changes as long as I'm the one hunting." Said Frog. "As from today no eating in this house without holding your plate of food with your own hands and sitting properly on the stool provided." He shouted!

11

Snake tried to sit up but he slithered from the surface every time. Frog and his mother showed him how to hold food but he couldn't do it since he had no arms. They both laughed at him.

12

They finished eating while Snake had not taken a bite. In anger and shame of being laughed at he decided to leave their house. Before leaving, he promised to swallow them whenever they met.
