Man and Owl

Man and Owl were friends. They lived together in the middle of the forest. Man had built a small cage for Owl.

During the day, they would hunt together small rabbits and gazelles.

Once they caught an animal, they would slaughter and share the meat.

They would rest and then wait for another chance to go hunting.

Their friendship lasted for a long time. One day, Man found a woman to marry.

Owl was not happy because their friendship changed. But Man kept telling Owl that they were still friends.

After some time, Man and wife had a baby. Owl was very jealous.

Man's family was growing big, and so even the hunting responsibilities increased.

They still went out to hunt, though Owl was not excited about it anymore.

He he was jealous of Man's wife and the baby.

One day, Owl was very frustrated and unhappy. Man told him to go and hunt, but Owl refused.

Man punished Owl for disobeying him.

That night Owl cried and cried. He was so annoyed with Man.

Later, Man's baby fell ill and died. Man was very sorrowful and wept uncontrollably.

Not even his wife could console him.

Man accused Owl of causing the death of his baby. He chased Owl away from the compound.

They stopped hunting together and became enemies.

Owl went to live in tall trees in the forest away from Man.

Owl started hunting at night so that Man would not see him.

To this day, Owl hunts at night.

When Owl hoots near a house, some people believe that it's a bad omen.

They are afraid.
