Timmy was home and bored. He had nobody to play with because all his friends were busy. A thought crossed his mind. His aunty had bought him a special drawing book from China. He decided to keep himself busy by drawing on it.

Work without play makes Jack a dull boy. Timmy was tired of drawing. He walked to his mother who was sitting under a tree shade. " Mommy, can I go look for my friends?" Timmy asked his mother. "Oh yes son, but keep safe" Timmy's mother said

When he stepped outside the gate, he saw his friends chasing his puppy. He had left him lying in his kennel.Timmy didn't know he had sneaked out. He called them but they couldn't hear him. The poor puppy was running for his dear life.

The friends stopped when the puppy ran into a nearby bush. Timmy was sad and disappointed. He never thought his friends would be that cruel to his pet puppy. They were not sure they would find him. "Let's go look for him" sad Timmy said.

The poor little puppy was scared. He stopped and rested on a rock in the shrubby forest. He was tired and hungry. He wished to get home but he didn't know how. He also feared that the naughty boys would harm him.

Timmy and his friends had gone round the forest,across the bushes and shrubs. They did not trace the puppy. Timmy hoped to hear him bark but the only sound was from chirping birds and croaking frogs. Poor Timmy knelt down and sobbed.

The puppy followed a route hoping to get home. What a bad day it was for him! He fell into an open pit. The puppy was tired and worn out but he kept fighting. He had to save himself from the two enemies. The pit and the unkind boys.

The boys felt sorry for Timmy and started regretting their actions They apologized to Timmy and helped him up. They promised to help him search for his pet puppy. Timmy was a kind boy, he forgave his friends and they started the hunt down.

Timmy was almost giving up. Just then, he heard a faint sound. It was his pet dog barking. He called out to his friends. They listened keenly to where the sound was coming from. They walked and found him in the pit. They gently pulled him.

The tired and weary puppy ran to a nearby stream to quench his thirst. Relieved to see Timmy and hoping his misery had ended. Timmy was happy and thankful to his friends because after all, they still offered to help search for his puppy.

Though they didn't play any games. They had a lesson for the day. They promised to love and take care of each other.Everyone was happy including the puppy. It was late in the evening. They bid each other goodbye and rushed home before dusk.
