‎ ​ Kyle was a brave explorer, and his backyard was his jungle. His trusty sidekick, Captain, was a loyal dog who was very good at digging.

‎ ​ One sunny afternoon, Kyle was pretending to be on an expedition. Suddenly, the Captain started to dig, his tail wagging furiously. Dirt flew through the air as he pawed at the ground beneath the giant oak tree.

‎​"Captain, what have you found?" Kyle asked, running over with his shovel. The captain held a rolled-up piece of old, crinkly paper in his mouth.

‎ ​ The paper was yellow and smelled a little bit like a dusty attic. Kyle carefully took the paper from the Captain. It was a map! The edges were torn and it had a funny name at the top: The Whispering Giant.

‎ ​ Kyle looked at the map, then at the tree. The map said, "Start here," and had messy, scribbled handwriting that read, "Follow the giant's shadow when the sun is highest in the sky."

‎ ​ Kyle looked at the sun. It was getting higher and higher in the sky. He and Captain sat down to wait. They had a treasure map, and a brand new adventure was about to begin.
