"I'm so excited! Mommy said today we will make cupcakes! I love cupcakes," said Tilly to her bear.
"Mommy, can we make the cupcakes now?"
"Tilly, dear, it's still too early to make cupcakes," said Mommy.
All morning, Tilly waited and waited.
All she wanted to do was bake them.
She looked out the window and saw a cupcake-shaped cloud.
"Oh!" she exclaimed out loud.
Just then, Mommy shouted, "Tilly, it's time to make the cupcakes!"
She jumped up excitedly.
"Coming!" she shouted.
Mommy tied up her hair and gave her an apron.
"Now let's get the recipe" Mommy said.
Mommy read the list of ingredients while Tilly gathered them.
They got started.
"A-d-d, add one c-c-c-u-u-p-p... Cup! of…" Tilly read.
"One cup of flour and one cup of sugar" Mommy said.
"A half cup of melted butter. Be careful not to spill it." she continued.
"One egg, a half cup of milk, and vanilla essence, just a dash." Mommy read.
"Watch out, it might splash!" Mommy laughed.
"Let's mix it all together and scoop it in the tin" Tilly said.
She gave it a stir, and Mommy stirred too.
The oven was hot, so that part was Mommy's job.
Mommy scooped the batter into the tin and put it in the oven
Tilly watched it rise while Mommy made the icing.
Twenty minutes later, the cupcakes came out of the oven.
They smelled delicious!
Tilly watched as they cooled, excited to put the icing on.
Mommy started putting the icing. Finally, their cupcakes were done.
The next day, Tilly went to school and shared the cupcakes with her class and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her.
