It was morning. Mom, Dad, Zinzi, and Thabo were sitting at the table.
“Today is a big day!” said Dad.
“Are we still going to the zoo?” asked Zinzi.
“Yes! Finish your breakfast,” said Mom.
The family got into the car.
“Zoo time!” shouted Thabo.
“I packed snacks and water,” said Mom.
They arrived at the zoo.
“Look at the big gates!” said Dad.
“Yay! We are here!” shouted Zinzi and Thabo.
“Look, Mommy Elephant and Baby Elephant!” said Zinzi.
“There is a lion across the fence!” said Thabo.
“They are so big!” said Dad.
The family walked past the flamingos.
“They are pink and pretty,” said Mom.
“They stand on one leg!” laughed Thabo.
“I want ice cream!” said Zinzi.
“Let’s get some,” said Dad.
Mom bought vanilla cones for both kids.
A clown came by.
“Balloons! Balloons!” he said.
Thabo got a red balloon. “Thank you!” he smiled.
At the toy stall, Zinzi saw a teddy bear.
“I love it!” she said.
Dad smiled. “Let’s buy it for you".
“Time to go home,” said Mom.
The family got into the car.
“My feet are tired,” said Thabo.
The sun was setting as they drove home.
“This was the best day ever!” said Zinzi.
Everyone smiled. They were very happy.
