Our favorite school teacher Madan Anisa called pupils from grade 4 to grade 9 to the school hall for important lesson. Every Wednesdays evening, we have this kind of assemble where madam Anisa shares important things for us to learn and do either at home or in our school.

1

"I want to teach you a very important lesson today. But first, i want to ask you a few questions." Madam Anisa started. "Who do you live with at home?"
"I live with my parents and two siblings" Peter answered. "I live with my aunt and cousins" said Anita. "I live with my grand parents" replied Juma.

2

"Good, we all live with our parents, grandparents and guardians. Today we are going to learn how to help them at home. They provide for us food ,shelter ,clothes and education to grow well. " Madam Anisa continue to speak.

3

"We also have our house-helps in our home. They help in cleaning, washing clothes and cooking and keep us safe when our parents and guardians are working or away. We can also help them to make their work easier. Here is what you can do to help at home according to your age."

4

For those who are 6 to 8 years, every time you finish eating you can remove your plates and spoon and take it to where you wash utensils. Pupils above 10 years you can help in washing the dishes after every meal. You can take turns with your siblings in housing the utensils.

5

"Clean the place you sleep every morning. You can put up the mosquito net, spread the bed sheet and even sleeping the area. When it is clean you can enjoy you sleep in the evening, is that correct my students?" Madam Anisa ask us. "Yes teacher" We all answered unison.

6

You can wash your own clothes. If you are below 10 years you can start by washing your own school socks. if you are above 10 years according to how your parents allow you you can wash your school uniforms and other clothes.

7

You can clean around your home by picking trash is you are under 10 years old. Those of us who are above 12 years , you can sweep or cut over grown grass around your compound. This helps in keeping our environment clean.

8

When you visit your grand parents in the rural areas, you can help in the shamba during the rain season in planting, weeding and even harvesting food. You can feed the chickens, help in cleaning the goat pen and chickens coup.

9

"What we have learnt today is to find ways which we can be able to help our parents and guardians at home after playing, reading ,sleeping and eating. I want each one of you next week to tell me what else can you do at home to help your parents?" Madam Anisa conclude her speech.
