The children are very excited this morning. Mom and Dad promised to take them on a trip to the zoo today. Everyone is now busy eating their breakfast at the table.

Everyone has finished eating and they are now in the car on their way to the zoo. "The sun is shining brightly. It's the perfect day to go on our trip," says mom. "We're almost there," says dad.

Lyle and Layla can't wait to go into the zoo. Here comes mom and dad with their tickets. Everyone is so excited when they are allowed to go in through the gate. "Here are so many different animals here," says Lyle.

Layla really likes the lion that lies and sleeps so peacefully. Lyle likes the elephant and her baby. This is their first time visiting the zoo. They have only seen most of the big animals on television.

Dad and mom are now taking them past the dam. "Those pink birds are called flamingos and they usually stand on one leg," mom explains.

Everyone is now tired from walking. They see the candy stalls. The people at the stalls are very friendly and invite them to come and buy. The children immediately choose quite a few sweets.

It's time to go home now. Lyle quickly buys a red balloon that he wants to take home with him. Layla has chosen a green toy giraffe. She likes their long necks.

The trip has now come to an end. The children enjoyed it a lot, but are now very tired. They fall asleep while Daddy drives back.
