In a village called Boki, there lived a woman called Chidinma. She had a daughter named Ngozi. They were very poor.
One day, Ngozi went to fetch water. On her way, she picked up a bag of money and brought it to her mother.
Her mom asked, "Where did you get this money?"
She replied, "Mama, I picked it by the river side."
Madam Chidinma was so confused because she thought that her daughter stole the money. She asked, "What should we do with the money?" But her daughter too was confused.
Mrs Chidinma thought hard about what she could do but still she had no clue. She was scared that the owner may come for her or her daughter.
While she thought about it, she heard a knock on her door. She opened the door and saw a man who brought a message from the king.
The king had summoned all the villagers to his palace, in search of the money bag. No one had a clue except Madam Chidinma and her daughter.
The king was surprised at their honesty and fell in love with Ngozi. Surprised too, Ngozi blushed.
"How will my mother feel if I married the king?" Ngozi wondered. She knew that her mother will feel lonely and sad. Then she thought to bring her mother along.
They both went into the palace together. It was a very big castle. Madam Chidinma prayed and wised her daughter a happy marriage.
They all saw the bag of money as a blessing.
