The Big City

Accra is a very big city. It is the capital city of Ghana. There are a lot of people in Accra.

Kwabena and his family live in Adawso, a smaller town in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Kwabena's father is a teacher at the Adawso MA Primary School and his mother is a trader at the local market. He has two siblings named Anita and Daniella.

Kwabena and his siblings have never traveled to Accra.

Today is Saturday, and Kwabena is going to the big city with his mother.

They first passed by the big market of Agbogbloshie, where they bought some food stuffs. His mother also bought some items to be sold in the local Adawso Market.

They walked past the city park. Kwabena saw several parents playing with their children.

Some of the children were playing with their pets. He was very excited.

Kwabena saw the city mall. It is the biggest building he had ever seen. He could not believe his eyes.

His mother took his hand and led him into the shopping mall, where she bought him a new pair of shoes.

They walked past some notable places in the city.

They saw the National Theatre, the City Hotel, and the Bank, before heading to the Lorry station.

When they returned home, Kwabena told his siblings about all the wonderful things he had seen during the trip to the big city.

Anita asked, "Mummy, when will we also go to the big city with you?"

Her mother assured them they will come with her on her next trip to Accra. However, she bought nice presents for all of them.
