Once upon a time a woman named Ntombi Elizabeth Nteso. She was the second child of Pauline and Jacob Nteso. Their place of origin was from two countries. Her father's grandpa came from Lesotho and grandma from Hebron. This was her home town
Ntombi's parents worked in Johannesburg, where they met. They moved back home from Johannesburg and her father worked in Rosslyn Makraal. Her grand mother works at Hebron College of education. This was local places where they worked.
Ntombi gave birth to a girl and named her Glanice. Glanice was the name given by her boss. She grew up in the village and her grandmother called her a boy. She never asked why she was called a boy whereas, she was a girl. This was confusing
Glanice had to figure it out why she was called a boy. She had two friends a boy named Dotty and a girl named Cissy. They both were friends and always playing together. This is why Glanice was not sure whether to be a girl or a boy?
Glanice trusted her granny so she started wearing trousers like Dotty. She played with him but sometimes with Cissy. Her friendship with girls never lasted for long. She enjoyed boys companies. Inside her there was this boy crying out loud.
This thing inside her telling her what to do. Glanice talk to herself and enjoy playing alone most often. She started writing stories in her heart and day dreaming about her future. She wanted to study and to become a professor.
Glanice will walk away if she was sad. This was her way of dealing with pain. She will lock herself in a room and cry without telling granny. Everyone in the family thought that everything was well. Her sadness and pain was never shared.
She was not aware that it was her strength. She dealt with pain by herself and get solutions without any help. The only challenge was that it affected her emotionally. She became unstable and had shortness of breath, due to this behaviour.
This anger came from being beaten by someone who instilled aggressiveness in her. The person who bit her was trying to shut her up from talking too much. Not knowing that this was Glanice's strength. She was a speaker and this was unnoticed
In the family they regard her naughty, 'lastig' and someone who is troublesome. There was a blind woman who called her a police woman and a soldier. This woman was old and blind but could see something good from Glanice. Her guardian angel.
This blind woman name Mmatlou. Everyday, after school she will call Glanice. She wanted to send her to the shop, to go and buy a beer 'lion' and bread. Then, she will give her 50 Cents. She is the one who taught her to say thank you.
Glanice attended Primary School and went to Middle School at Hebron Extension. The young girl living with granny had a boy friend named Donny. Together, they went to fetch water and woods. Village life was great, filled with laughter.
