All animals in the forest enjoyed each other's company. They feasted on a rotational basis depending on the village they lived in.

Each village was headed by an elder. They would host parties and invite all other animals from other parts.

1

One day, it was the turn of animals from the southern part of the forest to host the party.

They were headed by Elephant. He invited all the animals from the other villages.

2

Every animal from the host village got busy to work as they prepared food for the guests.

Many goats and cows were slaughtered. There was enough food for everyone to eat.

3

In the afternoon, the guests started streaming in.

Some arrived as couples, while others walked in alone.

They were all very excited to attend the party.

4

Hyena was the last to get to the feast. He came from the farthest village.

He salivated on his way just thinking of how much he was going to eat.

5

On his way, he came to an intersection. Two roads each led to a different direction.

Hyena was confused as he did not know which road led to the feast.

6

He paused and thought to himself, "Why don't I have my two legs on one road and the other two on the other road?"

He struggled to walk with his legs wide apart.

7

He sighed and sighed as drops of sweat fell from his forehead. His tongue hang out as he pushed his body to two different directions.

After a long struggle to do the impossible, he eventually broke his hind legs.

8

To this day, hyena's hind legs are shorter than the front ones.

That is why hyenas walk with a limp.
