The uninvited guests

My sister Jolie, had dreamt of having the most colourful wedding day.

She wanted to have her wedding garden beautifully decorated with roses and carnations.

After many years of planning, her dream came true when she met Steve.

1

December 15th was their big day. The wedding was full of pomp and colour. It was held at Hidden Treasure Garden in Nairobi.

Lavender fragrance filled the air. The children danced joyfully as the guests were ushered in.

2

Caterers dressed in uniform were busy setting up tables and decorating the place. Soon they would open for service.

Before them was a buffet with all sorts of dishes along with the wedding cake.

3

Flower girls walked down the aisle ahead of the bride as soft jazz music played.

Jolie looked like a queen in her gown. She was accompanied by her father as they walked together to meet the groom.

4

The priest stood and called the ceremony to order. Everyone stood to welcome the groom and his bride.

Jolie was so excited. Love was everywhere. It was in the air, in the trees and even in the sun that shone brightly.

5

Jolie and Steve exchanged marriage vows.

Just as they were about to be pronounced husband and wife, a low hum began to fill the air.

At first it was barely noticeable but later it grew louder.

6

A massive swarm of bees was heading straight for the wedding party. Panic spread like wildfire.

Guests screamed and scattered. Everyone abandoned their seats and scampered for safety.

7

The bees descended upon the beautifully decorated garden.

They buzzed angrily around the flowers and the delicious food.

They then attacked everyone including the new couple.

8

Everything was in disarray. People brushed bees off their clothes as they screamed in pain because of the stings.

Jolie was in disbelief. She could not imagine her dream ruined by the uninvited guests.
