Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to explore our eNyandeni, a place of rich cultural heritage and breath taking natural beauty. I am looking forward to share with you the wonders of this incredible region.

From the vibrant traditions of the amaMpondo people to the stunning beaches and scenic views.

Nyandeni has cultural heritage, natural beauty and the warmth people in eNyandeni give.

By natural beauty I mean Hluleka Nature Reserve a scenic nature reserve offering self catering and campsitea perfect for nature lovers.

Mlengane Hill which is a picture sque Hill with breathtaking views, hiking trails and wildlife spotting opportunities.

We also have rich culture heritage like SS Mendi a historical memorial site honouring the lives of lost during World War 1.

The stone representing the contribution of South African citizens to the war effort and sacrifices made.

It is located in various places but we also have another memorial near the town of Libode which is close to the region of eNyandeni.

Nyandeni also has breathtaking natural beauty like Lubanzi beach, Mngcibe and Ngqeleni beach, they are known as its scenic views, perfect for hiking too.

Historical significance like Dikeni hill with Khoisan rock paintings, prominent Pondo Chief Grave site, and one of the oldest halls eNgqeleni (recently refurbished) to serve as a reminder of the region's rich history.

We do not lack anything as it also offers warm hospitality like at Buffalo Guest  House, Vukani Back packers located in Port St John's , offering affordable accommodation and a lively atmosphere, Dan's Country Lodge, etc.

Exploring  our own background and heritage is essential, understanding our roots where we come from.

Learning about amaMpondo's people migration history and their connection to the land, their connection to the SS Mendi and its significance.

Appreciating local knowledge, learning about traditions and embracing our heritage,like finding out more about our history to educate our beautiful minds with history of eNyandeni.

Travelling strengthens our way of seeing, encouraging personal growth and builds connection with people. It can be done by visiting the old Hall Museum to about its cultural significance.

Being exposed to different cultures can help us develop empathy and understanding by listening to our storytellers about local communities who experienced historical life.

Cultural engaging can help in traditional amaMpondo dance like the"umtshotsho" also story telling by sharing their personal stories and listening to others during a homestay is important too.

We can best invite the world to eNyandeni by showcasing locally, highlighting the stunning beaches and views of eNyandeni by supporting local initiatives like Homestay program of eNyandeni which offer authentic experiences.

Social media too can help in sharing captivating stories and lastly authentic experiences like offering engaging cultural encounters like hospitality and exploring the ancient Khoi paintings in eDikeni.

The tourism economy in the Eastern Cape has grown from 10 % in the past year; Nyandeni being a significant contributor, we can try to increase that by promoting our history and educating countless lives with it.
