Once upon a time, in a village called gaPhahla, beside a serene pond, lived a family of four: Nthati and Thabo, seven-year-old twins, and their loving parents, Jimmy and Rose.

2

Nthati and Thabo loved to play by the pond, splashing and giggling in the cool water.

3

However, their water play caused the pond to become dirty and muddy, creating problems for the villagers who relied on it for their water supply. The villagers often wondered who was making the water dirty.

4

But one day, as Nthati and Thabo were playing by the pond, two villagers saw them and shouted angrily, "Hey, you silly kids! Come here!" Thabo, sensing danger, quickly said to Nthati "Run, Nthati run."

5

Scared and tired, Nthati and Thabo ran back home, not knowing that the villagers were following them. When Jimmy, their father, saw the villagers approaching, he said, "Oh, it seems like we have visitors today". He then greeted them.

6

The two villagers explained to Jimmy and Rose what Nthati and Thabo had been doing at the pond. Jimmy immediately stopped the twins from going there ever again, and from that day on, they were sad and bored all the time.

7

Jimmy and Rose, seeing their children's sadness, came up with a plan. Jimmy suggested to the twins, "Since you love playing with water, I want to make a little garden for you where you can water plants every day.".

8

Nthati and Thabo were very excited about the idea. Their father, Jimmy, told them to choose any fruit or vegetable they would like to plant. "I would like to plant spinach because spinach is healthy and will make me strong," said Nthati. "I would like to plant tomatoes because tomatoes are high in vitamin C, which supports immune health and assists with fighting sicknesses like cold and flu," said Thabo.

9

Jimmy made a garden for them, and they happily planted their chosen fruits and vegetables with Jimmy's help. He also ensured that they had enough water to regularly water their plants.

10

The little garden became a productive and positive way for Nthati and Thabo to use water. Nthati and Thabo learned about gardening and the importance of growing their own food. They no longer play in the pond, and the community members were relieved.

11

Nthati and Thabo enjoyed a delicious meal made from the fruits of their labor, bringing joy to the family.
