It is summer and the grass is green at Buhlebethu. This is a big city where everyone is always busy. Jabu lives near a beautiful mall and he is a car mechanic.

One day Jabu was walking to his house and he saw a cute little dog. Jabu did not like animals but when he saw the dog ,he felt sorry for it and said to the dog, "Oh poor animal, I will not be able to leave you here alone in the cold''.

Jabu decided to take the dog to his home. He named him Rex. Jabu believed that animals eat bones only. He gave Rex bones every day.

After two weeks, Rex became a friend to a cute dog and the name of the dog is Monki. Monki and Rex play together every day. One day Monki was playing with Rex and he noticed that Rex is not like
other dogs. He said to Rex, "Why
are you always tired?'' and Rex said,
"Monki 'why are you saying that
?''. Monki said, ''You Walk and play slower than me ".

The next day Rex was playing with Monki and he started feeling unusually tired .His little legs were barely able to carry him .He stumbled and fainted on the ground. Monki screamed, "Jabu help!''

Jabu heard Monki and went outside to see why the dog is calling him. He saw Rex lying down and rushed to pick him up from the ground. Jabu ran with his feet to the veterinarian clinic.

The veterinarian checked Rex and said
''There are pieces of rotten bones stuck
in his throat''. Jabu was shocked and he started crying like a baby.

The veterinarian told Jabu to stop giving Rex bones because he will get more sick and die if he continues to eat them.

He told Jabu to give his dog food that is for dogs, carrots apple and other types of food that is not harmful to dogs because it is the best food to keep a dogs healthy. Jabu took his dog home and followed all the instructions of the veterinarian.

After a few days Rex recovered and he became a healthy dog. He started running fast like other dogs and he was always happy.
