Naledi's skipping rope

Once upon a time a sunny day, in a little town called Emba, there was a girl named Naledi. She loved to play outside with her skipping rope.

As she was skipping her rope Naledi felt something was off, she couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness. "But playing a skipping rope will be much fun if I had friends," said Naledi to herself.

As she played someone called her name "Naledi what are you doing? It was Lesego behind the fence. "I am playing a skipping rope all by myself, do you want to come and join me?

Lesego her eyes lit up with so much excitement. "Yes I do! She exclaimed, jumping over the fence and landed on the grass.

Together they started skipping, the rope hitting the ground. Now there were two girls playing the skipping rope.

Thabo and Thabang heard the girls giggling and peek on the fence. "can we come and join to play with you"? Asked Thabo and Thabang. "Yes! You can come and play with us" replied Naledi. Now there four children playing a skipping rope.

Naledi now was much very happy as she now had company her lonely backyard transformed into a playground of joy and laugher.

But as they played Thabo tripped and fell, he scratched his arm on the ground. "Ouch"! he cried out, as he winced in pain.

Naledi rushed to Thabo with concern on her face. "Are you okay, Thabo?" she asked helping him up. Thabo nodded bravely but his arm was starting to sting. "I need to go home and clean this up," he said, trying to hide the tears welling on his eyes.

Since Thabo went home now there were three children playing the skipping rope. Thabang stomach rumbled loudly. "I am hungry" he said rubbing his belly.

Lesego looked at the sky as the sun began to set." Maybe it is time for us to go home too," she suggested looking at her friends.

They said their goodbyes and parted ways, but they made a promise that from now on they will play together and be friends.

Naledi was all by herself since her friends went home but she knew despite Thabo's fall the day was filled with laughter, joy and friendship of skipping together.
