GLOSSARY

SONGIMVELO NATURE RESERVE -
It is a tract of land managed so as to preserve its flora, fauna and physical features.

AFRICAN ANTELOPE -
It is an animal called Impala.

KROMDRAAI CAMP -
It is a place where tourist can sleep over or rest in, at Songimvelo.

MAKHONJWA MOUNTAIN-
It is a long mountain when using the Barberton route from Songimvelo nature reserve.
GRASKOP -
It is also a place where one can see the flora and the fauna of the natural cretures.

It was spring, during September school holidays when Princess and her sister Lucia went for a tour at Songimvelo nature reserve and also went to Graskop.

They saw African antelope( impala).

They saw one of the big five animals, the elephants.

They saw buffalos, the wild cows.

They saw a beautiful print animal, a leopard.

Along their way when they were touring, they saw a rhino with its calf.

They even saw the kind animals, the giraffes and the zebras.

Later after their tour they went to Kromdraai camp.

They slept in chalets, that is where they booked to sleep over so that they can continue with their trip to Graskop.

They woke up very early in the morning heading to Graskop. They were so excited for their trip. They passed through a long mountain called Makhonjwa Mountain in Barberton.

When they arrived at Graskop, they were so excited that they were going to see the uniqueness of the nature.

They saw the three mountains that look like rondavels, they are called The Three Rondavels.

Thye went through and saw the God's window. Princess was so amazed to see such creatures.

They did not want to rest, but they continued to go so that they could see more. They saw the Blyde River Canyon.

Princess felt that they have been walking around, why not that they go for swimming. Her sister agreed and they went for swimming.

Princess was not perfect in swimming, she drowns. But luckily her sister Lucia was able to swim. She helped her.

When they woke up preparing to leave at Graskop, the sun was rising and Lucia reminded Princess about the Mpumalanga slogan. "Mpumalanga the place of the rising sun".

On the next day when they were going back home, on the N4 road they saw a Tunnel at Waterval Boven.

Just by the tunnel they saw water fall, that is called Elands river falls. Their tour was indeed the best during their school holidays.
