Tom was loved by his parents. He had a hat which the parents bought for him on his 5th birthday. He liked his hat and carried it everywhere; the park, the beach and even to bed sometimes.

The hat was not very beautiful but had some designs at the front. Nobody knew why he liked the hat so much.

It was Tom's 6th birthday!
His parents wanted to surprise him. He was still in bed sleeping when his mother and grandma entered his bedroom.
"Surprise!!!" They chorused.
Followed by a birthday song led by his grandma.

Their voices echoed in the air as they sang
"happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday! Happy birthday!
Happy birthday to you!"

He jumped up from the bed and hugged his grandma. His grandma had only visited because it was his birthday. He loved it when his grandma is around.

His grandma presented a gift to him. He was so happy and was eager to know what was inside the package. He unwrapped it, and boom!

It was a hat. Grandma had bought the cap so that he would stop using his old cap which had become worn out.

The new hat was big and shinny, with a big bright star. Ahmed wore the hat but it felt stiff. Unlike his soft hat. He still preferred his other hat.
