Lerato and Willy the Parrot

Lerato is a 5 year old boy who enjoys to play with his ball in the garden.

While playing in the garden he found a beautiful colorful bird, but the bird was injured and could not fly.

He took the bird inside the house to try help it and showed his mother who told him that the bird was a parrot.

His mother said they will have to take the bird to the vet, he then asked his mother if he can keep the bird and his mother agreed.

Lerato really liked his pet parrot and decided to give it a name.
"What will I name you?" Lerato said to the bird.
"How about Willy?" He said out loud.

The parrot was happy with the name and started repeating the name and the boy laughed.

Lerato was worried that Willy was not healing fast, he told his mother and mommy said he must be patient.

Later that day, Lerato was in his room trying to read and was struggling to read out loud his mother heard him and had an idea.

In the afternoon when Lerato came back from school, his mother told him she was worried about Willy so she had to take him to the and the doctor said that in order for Willy to heal fast Lerato had to read to Willy everyday.

Lerato wanted to help his pet friend and decided to read to him everyday to help him heal.

Everyday after school Lerato would read to Willy.

After a few days of reading, Lerato could read out loud and Willy was repeating the words that he was reading.

This was a fun exercise that helped Lerato gain confidence and improve on his reading skills.

He also had a lot of fun because he would laugh when Willy repeated the words from his reading.

Willy the parrot was healed and Lerato could not wait to read the rest of his books to his pet.
