In a small village near Serrekunda there lived two brothers called Yero and Baba. Every day they would walk along the path to visit their grandmother. They always took her some delicious food in a basket. There was one problem.

1

It was a big problem. The problem was a monkey! Every time the monkey saw Yero and Baba walk past he would jump out and grab the food from the basket. And then he would eat it! Gobble gobble munch crunch.

2

The two boys were so cross with the monkey every day. They didn’t know what to do. What do you think they should do to stop the monkey stealing their food?

3

Yero and Baba went to talk to their father and tell him the problem. Hmmmm. Dad thought hard about what they could do to stop the monkey stealing the food.

4

The next day the boys started walking to the village again. As they expected, the monkey jumped out from behind a bush as he wanted to eat their food - again!

5

The monkey grabbed the basket from the boys. It pulled and pulled and PULLED the basket and the boys tried to hold on tight. Eventually, the monkey won…

6

What a surprise the monkey got! The boys tricked him. Inside the basket was a dog who jumped out and bit the monkey on the arm! The monkey ran away and never bothered the boys when they visited their grandmother with delicious food again.
