One Saturday morning Mutembei and his brother Maina were walking along a bushy road. They were going to the farm.
They were carrying hoes and food for lunch.
They saw monkeys basking in the sun and Mutembei decided to throw stones at them.

His brother stood in shock. The monkeys hid in the bush for sometime then came out to chase them.
They ran away and left the hoes and their lunch.

Far away they met an old man in the thick forest grazing cows. "Young boys why are you running away, screaming?" Asked the man.
"It's the monkeys! they said together short of breath

"What did you do to the monkeys?" the old man asked shakily.
Mutembei said "I threw stones at them!". What!, you don't throw stones at monkeys". He told the boys that the monkeys are good friends and they love bananas.

The brother's returned to the farm and shared the Bananas they had carried for lunch with them and they became best friends. Since then when they go to the farm the monkey come to keep them company.
