My name is Sara, l live in Baga village with my mother. I am 10 years old. My father died when I was 6 months old.

One day after dinner, I asked my mother why I was not going to school like my friends.

Hmm! "Sara you know we are poor and I can't afford to send you to school but I promise to talk to your uncle to allow you stay with him and go to school."

Hip, hip,hip, hurray! My uncle agreed. I now attend a primary school in the city of Maiduguri.

After years of studies, Sara became a medical doctor and was welcomed home by her mother and the community.
